  • The sale for profit of women by men for men's pleasure (can you imagine it being...

violence against women must end - labels

The 2011 Oxfordshire Reclaim the Night march takes place this Friday evening, 28 October, meeting 6.30pm at Gloucester Green. We'll march around the city centre making a noise about violence against women, and tying decorative labels with messages about violence against women - and the phone number for Oxford Rape Crisis - onto railings and streetsigns. Bring your selves, your passion, your favourite chants, and placards and banners.

The march is women-only - for all who self-identify as women and experience gender violence as female-perceived.

Review of Reclaim the Night 2010

Monday, 25 October, 2010 - 16:49

Feminist fist

Friday 22 October saw the third Reclaim the Night march and rally in as many years. For a bit of a background to Reclaim the Night see http://reclaimthenight.org . I was not on the march, but was at the rally in Oxford's Ruskin College.

Overall, I thought it was a good rally. I liked the mix between people talking about the issues combined with a bit of entertainment. And it was all in a good cause - raising awareness of the ongoing battle to prevent violence against women - in the home, on the streets and in the workplace. Not only was...
